Cannot Login to my Admin Panel
-
My domain and site are hosted else place, but I use a WP theme.
I cannot log in to my WP Admin Panel. My web host escalated my issue to a level three help desk, who said that it was a WP issue rather than a host issue.
The WP Admin Log On Page (http://withimaginationtravel.com/wp-login.php) will not accept my login or password. When I select “forgot password”, I receive an error reading, “The e-mail could not be sent. Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function.”
When am logged into my WP Admin (for one of my other sites – ie. https://witgals.wordpress.com/) and I try to switch to the WithImaginationTravel.com site, I see an orange/gold colored triangle hazard sign that reads “Jetpack 3.3 is required. Update now.” Clicking that takes me to the Admin Login page where I cannot log in.
I’m truly at a loss for understanding what is happening here. Can anyone help? I’m hopelessly locked out of my site.
Thank you so very much.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We provide support here only for WordPress.COM hosted blogs. That site is not among them. You are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG and need support for that site in the future and if you do not have a WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.
Resetting your WordPress.ORG password http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_PageSome JetPack solutions are here http://jetpack.me/support/
Others are in the JetPack support forum at WordPress.org
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpackHowever, if you can’t find help at either one then you can file a JetPack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service

http://withimaginationtravel.com/ is not hosted here by WordPress.COM and we do not provide support for it.
withimaginationtravel.com is hosted by InternetNamesForBusiness.com

If I’m understanding this correctly, because my site is not hosted with WordPress.com, I am supposed to talk to WordPress.org?

You pay InternetNamesForBusiness.com to host your site. You can contact them directly. Support Issues:
(email visible only to moderators and staff)If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG and need support for that site in the future and if you do not have a WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and get advice from WordPress.com bloggers there.

I’m not trying to be difficult. I’m really just looking for help in an area where I’m at the mercy of others who understand more about the back end than I do.
I’m not sure we’re communicating. Internet Names for Business does not host my site. APlus hosts my site. They have looked into this and I have gone through 3 Levels of Support for them to confirm that it’s a WordPress problem.
I do not have a log in at WordPress.org. I have always logged in at WordPress.com – where I manage multiple sites. It’s always worked before (since 2012) and it suddenly is not working. Why am I being directed to set up a password at WordPress.org? What am I missing???

This is the reply that I received from my host:
The ticket # XXXXX that was submitted for withimaginationtravel.com, regarding your WordPress related issue, has returned from our investigation. During our investigation, it has been determined that you are using a third party WordPress Installer which is already beyond our support. For further assistance, please contact or visit https://wordpress.com/support/.
… If that’s helpful at all.

Hi there,
Since your domain and site at withimaginationtravel.com are hosted somewhere else, WordPress.com staff don’t have the tools or access to help with login issues there. That’s because the login credentials for your site at withimaginationtravel.com aren’t linked to your login here at WordPress.com. (You’ll see your site withimaginationtravel.com listed here at WordPress.com because it’s linked to your WordPress.com account through the Jetpack plugin. But when you need to access its admin panel, that’s a separate login.)
When you have a WordPress site hosted somewhere else (not at WordPress.com) it runs the WordPress software from WordPress.org. If you have questions about sites running that software, the best place for more help is in the WordPress.org forums. (To post in those support forums, you’ll need to set up a WordPress.org username/password if you don’t have one already. That’s just for using those support forums, since they’re separate from WordPress.com.)
But before you do that, you can try a couple other approaches to get back into that site:
One option is to go to the site’s login page at http://withimaginationtravel.com/wp-login.php and use the “Lost your password?” link to reset your password.
You can also take a look at the WordPress.org guide to Resetting Your Password for more ways to regain access to your site.
Usually I’d also recommend that you contact your host for more help if you need it, but it sounds like they aren’t willing/able to help with that. In that case, if you have more questions the WordPress.org forums are the best place to get more help with that site.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
