Cannot map site to 360videoproductions.fi

    As you automatically removed my previous post, here again

    I cannot map my today registered domain (at ficoara.fi) eventhough the names servers are configured as you describe. Ficora onformed that there is a problem => see below

    Result of name server verifications:
    ns1.wordpress.com Name server configuration files cannot be retrieved
    *Domain name: 360videoproductions.fi
    *Nameserver: ns1.wordpress.com
    Nameservers IP-address: 198.181.116.9

    ns2.wordpress.com Name server configuration files cannot be retrieved
    *Domain name: 360videoproductions.fi
    *Nameserver: ns2.wordpress.com
    Nameservers IP-address: 198.181.117.9

    ns3.wordpress.com Name server configuration files cannot be retrieved
    *Domain name: 360videoproductions.fi
    *Nameserver: ns3.wordpress.com
    Nameservers IP-address: 192.0.74.9

    Just to clarify, I get the following error when I try to map the domain

    “Sorry but 360videoproductions.fi has not been registered yet….”

    Contact registrar, who can rectify the name server configuration.

    Hey there,

    I’d be happy to help!

    I was able to map 360videoproductions.fi for you. You’ll still need to do a few things:

    1) Purchase the subscription here by renewing:
    https://wordpress.com/my-upgrades

    2) If you haven’t done so already, point the domain to our name servers:

    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com

    3) After giving that a few hours to take effect, set the domain as primary under https://wordpress.com/my-domains

    I am not a techie so please bear with me. Does mapping a domain mean that when I transfer from old host to wordpress then I will have my website exactly as it was with the old host? Or will my domain be hosted on wordpress and I have to recreate the website?

    Mapping a domain is when you have a domain registered at one host (e.g. Go Daddy), but you point the domain to be used at another host (e.g., WordPress.com). So, the domain is registered somewhere else but you are using it at a different host.
