Cannot open under menus when using mobiles
-
I started up my blog, ”Runda hörnan” https://stickans.blog about 10 years ago. All works well in an PC with i.e. Windows 10. The problem accour when using mobiles. I and others have tested with mobil – but with the same result. When opening an under menu, it not works, but directly one get back to the main menu.
My theme is Parament, and has been so since I started the blog. Can this theme cause the problem? If so:
1. Where found a list over themes, that I can use? Of cause I would like a theme that is some like Parament, so my visitors so my visitors can indentify my blog.
2. How to change theme without a catastrophic result? Where to find a guide?
At last. Can anything others cause this problem?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It is a very old theme, so it makes sense that some elements no longer work on modern browsers.
You can find the list of available themes at https://wordpress.com/themes
For some modern themes similar to what you have, I recommend this set: https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/right-sidebar+accessibility-ready+responsive-layout
The only thing you _may_ need to do after switching themes is re-do the menu and widgets, but most of the time those transfer over too. It’s generally a non-destructive process.

Hello macmanx,
The link you rcommend me, shows 21 themes, including Parament – the theme which will give me the problem … I would like if you give me the / these theme which will be the best for me. For example, 1:st, 2nd and third best. I will be very happy if you can help me here.
Of cause it will be an advantages for me if my new theme is a litle bit similar to Parament and not too difficult to install. I have about 10 mail menus and totally about 70 undermenus. My site is not commersial, so I would like if the theme not cost too much. I prefer a free one. :)Best regards

Ah, you’re still seeing Parament because you’re using it. :) It was retired a few years ago.
For close replacements, I’d recommend either https://wordpress.com/theme/franklin or https://wordpress.com/theme/twentysixteen
-
Thank you macmanx!
I will test twentysixteen, but I assume that it’s important to do a backup first?
I’m also looking at YouTube, to find a guide how to change theme. You know, nothing had to go wrong, and now I’m over 80 years of old – and by this you know, my memory … ;) -

Changing the theme will not affect your content – only the way in which it’s displayed, so no need to worry about creating a backup.
I’m also looking at YouTube, to find a guide how to change theme.
Lots of unofficial tutorials you can find on the internet will be about self-hosted WordPress.org sites – things there do not work quite like here, on WordPress.com. If you need help, I’d suggest checking out our support pages at https://en.support.wordpress.com.
Also, each theme has it’s own instructions, as staff-blorbo mentioned. You can also try the themes without activating them by clicking on the three dots next to the theme’s name and choosing the option Try&Customize.
This will allow you to see how the theme would look like with your content and how could you customize it: https://cld.wthms.co/kvbN8Pl
Remember that with your paid plan you can access support directly from https://wordpress.com/help/contact – it’s a faster way of getting assistance for your site :)

Thank you frecantomica for a very detailed answer! Now I know how to do. Perhaps one can occour some problems with all my under menus, but I think no dangerous, expecially as I can test the theme without activation.
Now we are going uot for our daily 5 km work, but it’s a day also tomorrow. ;) -
mercedesblak,
In my mobile I use Google and have my wordpress as a bookmark. I don’t know about any app for wordpress.com. I don’t know, but I think most of my visitors have tested to visit my blog in the same way? I have heard that some have big problem, and it not so good – perhaps many visitors use mobile, but never have told me this problem. ;( .
By this I now would like to change to another theme, and hope this will solve the problem. -
Hi Stickans,
Try using the App.
It’s brilliant!
Everything is one click away. You’ll love it. -
First of all – now I have changed from my earlier theme Parament to the theme Twenty Seven – without any problems, so I’m very happy for your help here, expecially fresatomica! Now my WordPress blog works also in mobile.
mercedesblak,
You recommend me to use “the App”. Even this I would like to test, but what app is “the App”? I would like if you put in the name of the this app, and best of all a link to the app you recommend me.Once again, thank you in the support, who have help me! ;)

Now I can see that I can open all open menus, but not the menus with password, i.e. my menus with personnally pictures. What is the reason and what for me to do? Just now I feel of cause that I should have picked away the password (opened this menus) before changed the theme. :(
Have you any tips what to do now for me, in order to open also this part of my menus? -
what app is “the App”?
Good question! :) The App is https://apps.wordpress.com/
I can open all open menus, but not the menus with password
The links are working, they’re just password-protected. You can change that following this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-and-page-visibility/
Of, if you want to remove them from the menu, you can build your own menu following this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
