Cannot paste my blog entry into the new post form and format it correctly

  • Unknown's avatar

I can’t format my text properly. I pasted the content I created into the new post form. When I preview my blog entry, the text is all mashed together and it won’t allow me to save it with spaces between the paragraphs. Spaces between the paragraphs make for much easier reading for my readers! Even when I put the spaces in and save it, it reverts to no spaces between the paragraphs. It just does not look good or readable this way! Why can’t I get the text to format properly, as I need it to be. I have not had this problem in the past with posting on my site.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Could you please send a link of the post you are referring to?

Also please make sure that you’re using the Visual Editor and not the Text Editor: http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/

    Looking forward to your reply.

I replied to Kardotim as completely as I could. I have not had any reply nor have I been able to publish my article that has been waiting now for 3 weeks to be published. Please help!

I had to get rid of Chrome as a browser due to extensive malware issues. Firefox no longer works well. I still have MS Internet Explorer but never use it. The browsers I’m using right now are Mozilla SeaMonkey or Opera. I have tried to publish my article in each of these browsers, including MS IE, still having the same problem across all of them.

All I want to do is be able to insert SPACES between my paragraphs and have them stay put when I save my draft and preview my article so I know it will look right for my readers once it’s published to the public.

I have not published my article yet because if it doesn’t look right, if it’s hard to read, that all reflects on me as the author. But this problem is not my problem, but a problem with how WordPress is working.
PLEASE help me solve this issue. I DO NOT plan on publishing this article until I know it will look right once it up and out to the public. I have not published much up to recently because I’ve been working on a book for almost 5 years. It’s done and published. My website/blog will now become much more important as a continuing educational outlet. I really need this to work, and I am paying for a website from WordPress, so I hope I get some support this time that resolves this issue.

Thank you and I look forward to help in resolving this.

Could you please send a link or title of the post you are referring to? If possible, send me a screenshot, so I can better understand the issue. You can simply upload the screenshot to your Media Library, like any other image, and I’ll be able to access it from there.

The page at the following link has some helpful tips for taking screenshots:

    Thank you!

I took a screenshot per your suggestions, there is no way to attach it here, so I will send it via one of the support emails to you. For the record, I tried to send 2 other screenshots to you I managed to get via email but the email notification I got is a no-reply email. I have screenshots I tried to send, one of the article I’m trying to get posted with correct formatting, and one that is posted with the correct formatting. And I’m not sure what a screenshot is going to do to help this problem, quite frankly. It will show you there are no spaces between the paragraphs when I try to preview my post – despite MANY repeated attempts to add spaces between paragraphs using the word-processing tool on WordPress. I have already told you this. A month has gone by in trying to post this article that my followers and clients are needing. I hope this will be resolved soon. I’ve been trying to be patient, I don’t want to be frustrated with the support staff, but I am definitely there! I need far better communication than I have gotten so far to resolve this. I’m trying to work my business on a very tiny shoestring budget and this problem is NOT HELPING ME AT ALL. This is, to me, a serious problem. This is affecting my ability to do business and communicate with clients and potential clients. When I can afford to upgrade my site to premium, I have been planning to when I can afford it, but this kind of support is certainly not encouraging me to invest further in WordPress.

So – I have 3 screenshots to show you… how do I get them to you since I seem to have no options for attachments here and there seems to be no way to email them to you?
