Hi there!
Can you let us know what the URL is of the site where you’re having this problem? Can you also let us know what browser and operating system you’re using and if you have the same problem if you try another browser? Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise.
Thank you!

Running Firefox in Windows 10. Tried MS Edge, same problem -
First, please make sure that Edge is up to date.
If it is, please do these two things:
1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/view-and-delete-browser-history-in-microsoft-edge-00cf7943-a9e1-975a-a33d-ac10ce454ca4
2. Try with all browser extensions temporarily disabled: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/add-turn-off-or-remove-extensions-in-microsoft-edge-9c0ec68c-2fbc-2f2c-9ff0-bdc76f46b026
Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which version of Edge you’re using if you’re still having trouble.

Never used Edge before today, I usually use Firefox. Deleted browser history and all cookies in edge & firefox caches. No joy. Disabled extensions. No change.

Hm, I’m not able to reproduce this issue myself.
Is it a specific post or page, and if so, what is the title of the post or page with the problem?

When I click on the ‘write’ button to start a new post nitwits for a couple of minutes and then gives the error message. Does not happen in Safari on my MacBook

Can you check if you get the error if you install Firefox or Edge on the Macbook?
I wonder if it’s not the computer, rather than the browser. If the editor works in Firefox on the Macbook, that would point to the Windows machine being the problem.
Are you using both computers on the same internet connection? If not, try unplugging the modem/router for the Windows machine for a few seconds, then restart it. Also flush the computer’s own DNS cache. You can find a tutorial for doing this in Windows 10 here:
https://www.technipages.com/flush-and-reset-the-dns-resolver-cache-using-ipconfig
If that also doesn’t make any difference, we’ll need you to check for console errors in the browser developer tools. This page will guide you through the steps:
https://wordpress.com/support/browser-issues/advanced-browser-troubleshooting/
Upload screen shots of any errors directly to your site’s media library, and we’ll be able to see them there.

Sorry, but no I didn’t. I shut down the PC for a full 24 + hours and when I fired it up tonight it allowed me to post on my blog. I also switched my VPN off and on a couple of times and chose another server. So apparently the problem was in the PC and not with WordPress. Best of luck with solving your issue.

Thanks for the details. I think the issue was with the DNS cache, then, or maybe your VPN does it’s own caching, in which case switching to a different server would have done the trick.
