Cannot process header image

  I FREQUENTLY get this message when trying to save and publish: Image could not be processed. Please go back and try again.

  It happens in IE9 and Chrome. The image is only 24kb. I’ve cleared my cache. Sometimes closing out of wordpress and returning works. Other times it doesn’t. This is very frustrating. I’ve read and followed by the image optimization and the help with browser page. Any other advise?

  What is the actual file size that you are trying to upload?

  Never mind I see you said 24k and that definitely shouldn’t be a problem. Is this the site you are talking about, http://beverlyedwards.wordpress.com/ ?

  Thanks. No, it’s pleadingthefork.wordpress.com. I’ve had this issue multiple times with various pictures over a couple of months.

  Are the images uploaded here at wordpress.com, or like on the other blog I referenced on flickr? And are you talking about the header image at top, or images you want to put into posts?

  I upload the pictures directly from my computer. That part seems to work fine. Then, I crop the picture. Then, I click the button to Save and Publish. I then get the image cannot be processed message.

  As a header image at the top of the site, or images you are trying to insert into posts?

  I never use the header crop feature in wordpress as it results in a much lower quality image in my opinion.

  Edit your image and crop and size it to the exact dimensions required for the header in the theme you are using and then upload that image so that it is used just as it is.
