Cannot publish or save

After I edit a post, there is no publish button anywhere. All I get at the bottom of the screen is a trash can! Is it my anti-virus stopping it or can anyone tell me how to get a publish or save button to show? Thanks.

There are “save as draft” links and “publish” links when you create any post or page. See the video tutorial here https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/
If you receive an error message post it here.
If you do not see the links then you could have either a connectivity issue or a browser related issue.
1. Check with your ISP (internet service provider) for known issues.
2. Read all the tips here https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/
- Make sure you are running an up to date browser version found at http://browsehappy.com
- Make sure you have JavaScript and third party cookies enabled https://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/#how-do-i-enable-third-party-cookies.
- Disable any adblocker browser add-ons.
- Try clearing your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache
- Try using another browser.
3. If you are not successful please post this specific info here:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.

Thank you. I changed some settings in my browser. I still don’t have a publish button, but I have an Update button.

Hi @myhorsegatsby, the button changes from ‘publish’ to ‘update’ if the post is already published.

@timethief it is mentioned here, but it looks like that document needs a little updating anyway. I’ll see if we can work on that.

I laughed as I tagged this thread for Staff but then I got another one here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/where-is-the-publish-option?replies=3#post-2961703 so I guess that needs to be emphasized in the support doc. -
