Cannot re-use deleted site
-
If I log in with my username ‘chrisfearnley’ I get to the ‘trurocycling’ site which I helped to set up a year or so ago (and which works fine and has another admin user). But I also want a private blog under my own name.
If I try to log into chrisfearnley.wordpress.com I get “chrisfearnley.wordpress.com is no longer available. The authors have deleted this site.” (although I didn’t use that site name, I’m sure I did not delete it).
If I try to create another blog (via the ‘trurocycling’ login and ‘create another wordpress’) I’m told that chrisfearnly.wordpress.com is already taken, so I cannot use it.
Any way out of this without changing my name or paying for a non-wordpress URL?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

chrisfearnley.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.
chrisfearnly.wordpress.com doesn’t exist
Do you want to register chrisfearnly.wordpress.com?
Once deleted site names are gone forever

You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

Thanks for the responses.

…but then why do I get “chrisfearnley.wordpress.com is already taken” when I try to create a new blog with that URL?

yes I know, as I said in my original post, I could pay for a non-wordpress URL.
