Cannot read property ‘raw’ of undefined

    Hello!
    I have just started trying to set up my site today using the Mayland theme, and I keep getting the error ‘Cannot read property ‘raw’ of undefined’ when trying to upload an image. I thus cannot upload any images.
    I’m not sure what ‘raw’ refers to as my image is a jpg and not a raw file.

    I would greatly appreciate any help!

    Hi @flishae, can you confirm whether you’re uploading .jpg images or raw images? If you’re uploading directly from the camera, it may be only saving them in raw. That would use up your space very quickly, too, so I’d recommend saving as JPG first.

    Hey @supernovia, I can confirm that I’m uploading .jpg images, the largest of which are around 600kb or so. I did edit the images as raw files, but saved them as .jpg.
    Turns out, I am able to occasionally upload the images, though it will usually give me the same error on the first few tries, so I still have no idea what it means.

    It would be great if you could actually send us the file that gives you issues so we could test it.

    You can upload it to any file sharing service like Google Drive, Dropbox or a page like https://send.firefox.com/

    Once we have that, we’ll take a closer look at what’s happening.

    staff-mckluskey here is the first image I tried to upload that gave me the most problems, though after many tries it did eventually upload, as is the case with the other images I uploaded.

    Thanks for the image! I tried it with my test site and it uploaded without any issues.

    I was also able to upload it successfully to your site when testing it so I can’t reproduce the error you’re describing.

    The next time you see an error while trying to upload a file, please write us back with the exact steps you took to upload the image (did you upload it to the media library or directly to a post? what block type did you use? etc.) and a link to the file in question. We’ll try to reproduce the error then. Thanks!

    staff-mckluskey It might be a problem on my end then, since it doesn’t seem to be an issue with the file itself as they do eventually upload.

    Could it be to do with internet quality? I just noticed they upload in less tries when I don’t do anything else (e.g. open new tabs; open other programs) while it’s uploading, and that I have no issues with images that are smaller (<300kb).

    I upload them directly to a page using the masonry block, if it’s any help. Uploading to the media library is temperamental in the same way.

    Hmm, it might be, especially if you’re uploading multiple images at the same time (Masonry Gallery) although I’d say that the error you see would be different.
    You can test your connection speed here.

    Have you tried if the issue persists when you use another browser?

    staff-mckluskey I was uploading them one at a time, though I know my internet speed is very slow.

    I just tried on firefox, and it gave me a different error this time (though it uploaded properly on the second try). The error I received was “L.title is undefined”.

    Apart from that one error, it seems to be fine on firefox! Thanks for suggesting trying another browser!

    @flishae I’m glad it’s working better for you now. If it happens again, though, would you be willing to get a screenshot of the error console and upload that?
