Cannot release my blog from 'private'

A free plan blog.
I’ve reset everything I can but others are reporting that my blog remains private.
I’ve been through manage, checked all my posts and pages in quick edit,
Literally tried everything but the blog remains “Private”.Any thoughts on how I re-enable it or do I need to make a brand new blog?
If so, can I use my old blog name as I’ve had it for seven years.Thanks for any help.

Hi and thanks for the input.
I’ve done that and even put it into private mode saved that, logged
out, switched off, re-entered public mode, saved it, and tried again.Same error message was reported by others.
The site is marked private.Any other ideas friend?

Thanks again but I just got another user of my blog to reset their cache, and
restart their browser, but the same private message was shown.This is driving me CRAZY!

Perhaps you/they should try a different browser. I see the site. The first post is dated 5th July entitled Long term fuel/oil storage.

Ok, now I’m well confused as the last try was by a friend using Firefox, the previous one is a opera fan as I am.
So what browser are you using friend?

How odd. I can see your site using Chrome. I’ve just tried it via Edge and I get the private front page too. Something evidently hasn’t loaded properly. I wonder if it’s worth you trying once more only this time via wp-admin Settings Reading Allow search engines and scroll to the bottom to save changes. If that doesn’t work you’ll need to call in staff to look into this further.

Ahh, now that puts a different view on things.
Chrome is pretty universal but Edge?
I thought that was the new boy in town.
I’ve just checked and 3 out of the four are using win 8 and one Win 10 but doesn’t. use edge.OK, one last try at a reset than I’ve got ot work out how to call in for staff help.
Back in a mo after I’ve tried a reset again.

Right. All done, Win 8 x2 and Win 10
Chrome worked on a Win 8 machine but “it loaded weird”.
Whatever that means.
Opera and Firefox didn’t and is still private to them.Which leaves me somewhere, I think.
Being a bit thick,
Could you please tell me how I call in a staff member to help as you advised??Paul

It’s now working for me with Edge so perhaps you’ve shaken the branches or released the parking brake. This thread is tagged to ask if a member of staff could check behind the scenes that your site is functioning correctly. Note that less staff are lurking here at the weekend.
