Cannot remove category

  When I started I’ve defined two categories. Attached to one of them I had two sub-categories. I’ve made the mistake to remove the parent directory first and than both sub-categories. I didn’t post in those (sub)categories yet.

  After removing these categories I cannot see hem anymore in the category list, but the parent category stays visible on my homepage, although it is not active.

  How can I remove this parent category? I cannot find it anymore, only on my homepage.

  Have you tried by going to:

  Posts >> Categories

  On the right side of the window you will see all your categories. You can hover on to the one you want to delete and you will get flashing red text to remove it.

  If this doesn’t work then on the same window there is selection box for Parent and None so try selecting something from the drop down list.

  Click categories and just delete the one you don’t want.

  I already did those things, but the problem is that in the list of categories I cannot find the category I would like to delete.

  If it is your default category, you need to change that default to the other category.

  You only have 3 categories and they are all on corruption.
  I know your looking for the parent category.

  BTW, why have you two drop downs for the same categories.

  In case you mean “Travel Experiences”, that’s not a category, that’s just the title you’ve added to the Categories widget you erroneously added twice: you need to go to Appearance > Widgets and delete the widget.
