I used to have a free site on WordPress.com and it still comes up in an internet search even though I thought I took the site down. When I log in here, only my new hosted site shows on my dashboard. Where did the old site go? And how can I completely delete it?

    WP.com: Unknown
    Jetpack: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

Hi there, the only site I see under your account here is https://ljcreative.space/

What is/was the URL of the site you continue to find via search?

That site is under a different account, and it hasn’t been deleted. It looks like you only canceled the plan associated with that site.

To be able to delete that site, you need to log in to that other account of yours and follow these instructions:

    https://wordpress.com/en/support/delete-site/

For more help in accessing a different account, please follow our Account Recovery guide:

I’ve only ever had my one Gmail address as a login. I wouldn’t have registered with any other account. Is there a way for you to show me what username is? I honestly can’t think of what else it would be. I only have one account. Thanks!

We cannot provide that information for security purposes.

The email used on that account used a custom domain (not Gmail), so you would need to review what other email addresses you’ve used over the years.

It does look like you had a support ticket from two years ago about a mystery charge – that same charge is tied to the account that owns these sites.

If you have that transaction ID, you can use the Account Recovery form to prove ownership of the account, then WordPress.com support can help you from there. You can find that form here:

    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

Just fill out as much information as you have, including an email address where Support can get in touch. The transaction ID will be on your bank statement as WordPress followed by a letter/number code. They’ll look like this:

    WordPress XXXXXXXXXX

You can read more about what the account recovery process entails here:

    https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/

    I hope that helps!
