Cannot remove old WordPress Account (need prem. theme deleted)

I’m trying to delete and remove: https://rkoscica.wordpress.com
Seems I’m unable to delete it on my own because I paid for a theme a few years ago.

When I follow the directions: My Site > Settings > Delete Permanently – I keep getting a window that pops up that I need to change my ‘upgraded’ preferences.

Can someone please help me take it down? So I can close out that old WordPress account?

    I own a photography business: http://www.rachaelkoscica.com
and I have a different WordPress Blog that’s already linked up to my Showit site. So I want to make sure that you don’t by accident delete my current WordPress Blog that I use for my business.

This one I need to take down: https://rkoscica.wordpress.com

    Thanks guys!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • @rkoscica I was able to remove the theme for you, so you can now remove the site if you’d like.

You might also consider just making the site private, instead. Once you delete a site, you would not be able to use that address again — it would be permanently deactivated. I personally recommend just making it private instead.

Thanks supernovia. Would you mind telling me how to make it private?
So then – the domain won’t work right?

    Thanks!!

  • Sure, when the site is private it will work for you as a logged-in member of the site. Since there are no other members, no one else could access it.

Head to https://wordpress.com/settings and opt to make the site private. Then if you ever change your mind, you can log in again as rkoscica to re-activate the site if you’d like.
