Cannot renew domain

    Hi,

    I’ve tried to renew our domain, however the following error message appears:

    This blog is not subscribed to some of these products. Did you mean to purchase them?

    The text is almost hidden at the top of the page without a yes/no button to click in order to proceed.

    I think this may be due to our previous plan being ‘Basic’ (and therefore not subscribed to some of the new products associated with Premium). However, there is no option to continue on our current plan, just to upgrade to Premium.

    I can’t find any way of completing the billing stage and ensuring we keep our domain.

    Hi there,

    I think the problem here is that the site, http://thebristolmayor.wordpress.com/, does not belong to this account, but to another WordPress.com username account. You will need to log in as the account that owns the upgrades in order to renew them.

    When you do, please make sure to renew via the purchases page, and not the expired domain overlay page that appears when you view your site, as we’re currently having some problems with that page.

    When you log into the correct account, you will be able to renew via the Purchases page, here:

    Hi Kokkieh,

    Thank you for the tip – I have now been able to find alternative log-in details.

    Do I need to renew both ‘bristolmayor.co.uk’ and the Premium account as the domain mapping is available with both?

    thebristolmayor.com is included in your Premium Plan, so if you renew the plan that domain mapping will be renewed as well.

    bristolmayor.co.uk you will need to renew separately, and you can do it now as it will expire in two days in any case.

    Also remember to renew those domains with your registrar as well when they expire. You only have domain mappings with us, which means you bought, and have to renew, the actual domains somewhere else.

    Hi,

    I have managed to renew the domain, backed up all the content and now want to delete thebristolmayor blog (to be used at a possible later date) and the following error message appears:

    You have active premium upgrades on your site. Please cancel your upgrades prior to deleting the site.

    However, the account linked to it doesn’t have a premium upgrade and neither does the blog. What can I do to proceed?

    When that message refers to “premium upgrades” it doesn’t mean the Premium Plan, but to any upgrade, in this case the two domain mappings which you have just renewed.

    Do you want to cancel those domain mappings instead? Note that this will not cancel the domains themselves, which are not registered with us.

    Also be aware that if you delete the WordPress.com site, thebristolmayor.wordpress.com, it will be gone forever. You will never be able to use that URL again and there will be no way to recover the content.
