Cannot Renew Domain After Being Transferred Site Ownership

    I was recently transferred ownership of the site and I would like to renew the domain which has been expired for a few days, however I am still seeing messages that the previous site owner is the only person who can manage and make any changes to the domain. How can this be fixed?

    Hi @dmmurph, I can feel your issue it seems annoying & sometimes concerning, below I mentioned a few possible solutions that I hope will work:

    1. After investigating your domain I found that it is registered under GoDaddy.com. So I hope the previous owner transferred the domain ownership to your GoDaddy account. If so, then you can easily edit those on your own or by creating a support ticket on GoDaddy website. If the previous owner didn’t transfer you the domain ownership to your GoDaddy account, then:
    2. If possible, try to contact the previous owner and ask them to properly transfer the ownership of the domain to your GoDaddy account.
    3. Till then if you can’t access the domain, GoDaddy can help you recover it, but you’ll need to prove your ownership.
    4. In my investigation, I found that the previous owner had specifically locked the domain to prevent any changes, including renewal, deletion, transfer, or updates. After getting control of this domain your simple request to GoDaddy to remove the locks will likely solve the problem.

    Finally, it seems it can be easily solved by the cooperation of the previous owner if it is not possible then you have to get in touch with GoDaddy(as they control the registrations of this domain) with proper ownership documents.

      Hi. After seeing your message I reached out to Godaddy who informed me the domain was owned by Wild West Domains. I then reached out to Wild West Domains who said the domain was registered to wordpress. It’s been almost a full week now so I’d really like some clarity so I can resolve this

      Also I spoke with the former admin and domain owner, user alphanahobbs, and he informed me that he updated the domain contact to myself. However I have yet to receive the email
