Cannot renew domain forwarding

I’ve just tried to renew my domain forwarding (which expired 2 days ago) but receive the message “This subscription was originally purchased by another user. Please ask the subscription owner to renew the subscription.” I have tried both users linked to the account but neither will allow me to renew. What can I do?

You can try double checking you don’t have any other users and verify which user owns the site here
https://wordpress.com/people/teamPremium services must be renewed by the user that owns the site.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. The link https://wordpress.com/people/team takes me to a page where I first select the site. When I select the site it shows 2 users, I’ve tried both of them but neither is allowing me to renew the mapping.
Any ideas?

I’d suggest going over to the support page for Domain Expirations and Renewals it should be able to point you in the right direction.

Mark, I see that your site is mapped properly- we’re dealing with the same issue. Can I ask what the resolution was for you?

FWIW, we ended up determining the owner of the website by attempting to change anyone with an admin role to an editor role (the owner cannot be demoted from admin), logging in to that account and transferring ownership of the site to someone else. That someone else was then able to renew the mapping without the same error.
