Cannot renew my plan

    Hey there! My card has expired since the last time I renewed my subscription, and I’m getting a warning that the domain will expire soon. However, I can’t for the life of me figure out how to renew. I try paying and it says nothing is in my basket, or I’m not the valid owner etc. (It says it needs to be renewed by xxx, but my username is different). It’s bizarre. Any ideas what I’m doing wrong? Thanks!

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi, cfcunderwritingltd,

    Is the site that you need help with:

    The blog I need help with is londoncybersymposium.com.

    If so, try logging in as londoncybersymposiumcom . Let me know if that works.

    Hi there,

    That domain and the connected Premium Plan belongs to the user, cfcunderwriting, as I also told you in https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/card-payment-wont-work two weeks ago. But I also see those upgrades have already been renewed and are good until 2018.

    @christinemaze

    While guessing the matching username sounds like a good option, it really isn’t as people don’t necessary have domains matching their free URL or their username.

    To find out the site owner it’s better to try and look up the Author Archive page on the site – the URL slug includes the author’s username. But as upgrades can belong to any admin on a site, not just the site owner, it’s best to tag the thread for staff in these cases so we can confirm the correct account.

    Thanks so much. Sorry, I missed your previous reply. The reason we were confused is because no one knew how to access the cfcunderwriting account – we knew we needed to access it but couldn’t figure out how or why. But it finally rang a bell and we were able to log in with a historic, unused email address and have transferred everything over.

    Problem solved. Thanks!

    Excellent. The cfcunderwriting account owns both the upgrades and the site itself, so please make sure that you have a current email address added in your account settings:

    https://wordpress.com/me/account/

    I would also recommend you make a note of the different usernames on the account with their associated email addresses (not the passwords, please), and also print out the receipt for the most recent upgrade and file that somewhere safe as well. Then should you ever need help recovering access to the account you’ll have it easily available.
