Cannot resize image within a post

  In the Lynda.com video tutorial, they show that you can click on an image within “edit post” and that in addition to those editing and delete icons, you should get those little handles to resize the image –those small boxes at each corner of an image so you can resize– when you click on the image. Instead I get a light blue transparent box and the delete and editing buttons but no way to resize within the post. Do I have an older version of wp? What am I doing wrong?

  Please review this guide on how to edit an image.To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.
