Cannot ‘reverse’ theme modification
-
Hello,
I’m new to WordPress.com. I have a new site and I have been experimenting with different themes.
I like the theme ‘Exmoor,’ and I was playing around with customizing it a bit. Specifically, I was trying to create some sort of template for some pages that doesn’t have a page title on it.
Anyway, I now have no idea what I did, but NONE of my pages now have titles on them. AND if I add a new page, it STILL doesn’t have a title on it.
I activated another theme, the reactivated Exmoor, but I am STILL having the problem. The thing is, I thought deactivating a theme/activating another/reactivating the first theme did a ‘reset’ on the theme…basically your old modifications would be gone. But this is not the case. So now I feel like I am going crazy.
Any suggestions?

Hey there!
Happy to help you with this.
It’s possible to reset the customisations via Appearance > Editor > Templates > Manage all Templates > next to Pages, click on the three dots > click Clear customisations.
This should bring back the title block.
It looks like you’re just getting started – what are you plans for your site? Maybe I can offer some advice and help to guide you in the right direction.
I hope this helps, speak soon!

Oh my goodness. THANK YOU KIND SIR! I looked around all over but did not manage to find that path to clearing customizations. That indeed did the trick.
Thanks as well for your offer of further help. I may take you up on that in the near future. I really shouldn’t be so dumb with this stuff…I created more websites than I can even recall using the self-hosted version of WP, but this is my first foray into trying to make a professional-grade site using WordPress.com.
You have a great rest of your day my friend.
