    Hi there,

Sorry about that! We’re working on improvements to the Customize tools (including custom colors), and it looks like we’ve run into a bug on your blog. I’m reporting this to our team, and they will work on a fix for you. Please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime. :)

Ok thank you so much !

I’ve fixed the colors for http://thriveonnews.com/

To change the color palette in the future, first go to Appearance > Theme Options and select the Light color scheme, then go to Appearance > Customize > Colors and select one of the newer palettes and Save.

No not fixed at all. I did not change the color palette in the first place and of course I know how to do that. Problems still occurring css not working cannot fix the colors they way they were. It won’t let me do anything. This has nothing to do with what I am doing. You are all so quick to tell us its our fault therefore overlooking the problem that is to do with wordpress.
    Please fix

My apologies. I followed the same update I used for several other people and they told me their colors issues were fixed after that. You’re the first person to say they haven’t been.

Here is what I currently see for your blog: https://cloudup.com/cs1LxKFvFLg

Earlier you said you cannot see the text and the colors had changed. I can see the text on your blog and I did revert the blog back to the brown color scheme for the Pilcrow theme, which is what appeared to be saved in your settings before. Since I can’t tell how what you’re seeing is different than what I’m seeing, can you tell me what you expect to be different compared to the screenshot I posted above?

Thank you for getting back to me. On my color chart links are blue body text is white if I try and change anything it reverts back to invisible. What you see and what I see are the same but that is not what it is on my css.

Okay, thanks for the more detailed explanation.

What’s happening is that we’re working to add free color schemes to more themes—but in some themes, the new tools are conflicting with the old ones.

So, we are working to resolve that! In the mean time, there are a couple ways you can work around the issue.

Option 1 — Go to Appearance > Theme Options and reset the color scheme to “Light.” After that, you will be able to use any of the color circles in the Appearance > Customize > Colors panel, and they should work. It might not be exactly the same as you had before, but the palettes will work better than they do with the brown color scheme turned on. With option 1, you will need to re-select the background image as soon as you change the palette (should be easy to do from the Appearance > Background page in the dashboard after you save new colors).

Option 2 — Leave the brown color scheme in place (the older style one from the theme options page) and adjust some colors via the other pages in the Appearance menu such as Background, Header, and Theme Options. With option 2, you can also make additional tweaks with CSS if needed. I can help with that part if you’d like.

Which option to pick will depend on your end goal. Since I didn’t see what the site looked like before the change, I need you to tell me exactly how you want the colors to be setup if you want me to help you update them. I will help you the best way I can with the tools in flux!

Aside: we’re still working to bring these two separate colors systems in line with each other, so some of these problems you’re seeing should actually keep changing and getting fixed until they are better. Upgrading how the colors tool works is the pathway to letting us give more people free color palettes with neat stuff like contrast rules built in (a very good thing when it’s working right!), predefined palettes, the newer style color picker, and other neat features.

Thank you so much, for your explanation, my main concern was that no one could see our articles but now you have fixed that, I do not mind waiting until wordpress finishes there updates, however I would like the links to be blue not orange I have tried, but to no avail, if it is possible that would be great. Thank you for the options, I shy away from changing my pages from dark to light as change upsets viewers. At the moment if I try and change the link color to blue I loose what you have fixed so I’m not game enough to take it any further. Again thank you for your assistance.

I updated the links to blue for you using the Appearance > Customize > CSS editor.
