Cannot set up a free site with a free domain.

    I have been trying repeatedly to set up a free blog with a free {blogname}.wordpress.com domain. I have gone through the free setup page and it insists that I either purchase a domain or it gives me only ridiculous domain suggestions that are not relevant to the blog I want to have. It wants to add words to my title and set it up as a subdomain of law.blog or photo.blog, etc. when the blog I want to create has NOTHING to do with that crap. What is going on and why can’t I just set up a blog with the normal free subdomain? I have created two separate accounts and tried to set up a blog with a normal domain name and this is getting ridiculous.

    Hi @faithuncaged, the .blog subdomains you’re seeing are also free and there are just a lot more available, which is why the system is suggesting them.

    If you’ll go through the signup and pick a website rather than a blog, it shouldn’t show you .blog names. Hoping that helps!
