Cannot set up Comments

    Dear WordPress, I for the life of me cannot figure out, even when reading through your online ‘help,’ HOW TO SET UP COMMENTS. I do not see any discussion settings, or any settings options AT ALL, only the simplest Account Settings in profile area. I have a colleague with a new blog, and neither of us are having success setting up comments so we can hear from readers. I see no options to set up comments, at least, nothing obvious. I see no ‘Discussion Settings.’ Thanks for helping.

    Are you logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the site? That is required.

    All WordPress blogs by default have comments open on all Pages and Posts. Note that comments are collapsed on the front page of the blog because if they were not then the blog would take ages to load and that would mean visitors would click out rather than waiting for the page to load.

    Your visitors click the post titles or the comment links or comment bubbles on the front page of the blog and they are directed to the full post appearing on its own page where the comment boxes appear at the end of the posts.

    You can enable and disable comments on WordPress.com blogs on this page Dashboard > Settings > Discussion

    You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.
