Cannot Transfer Domain

I obtained the domain (tedxlghs.com). I have tried to transfer it several times but it has failed each time. I do not think that I have purchased the domain because I used the free trial for my WordPress plan and then got the domain, but tried to cancel the plan before the trial ended but had already obtained the domain. I cannot cancel the domain from WordPress because it says it expires in March of next year. I want to use the domain for a Wix site that has already been created, but I have not been able to transfer the domain. I would like to talk to someone on the phone but I could not find a support number

Hi there,
Your domain still has private registration enabled on it. You’ll need to disable private registration to prepare your domain for transfer. If private registration is still enabled, the transfer can’t go through.
You can do that from your My Domains page, by clicking the “Edit” button next to your domain. On the “Transfer Domain” tab, you can check the box next to “Disable Private Registration. I understand that my contact details will be publicly available during the transfer period.” and then click the “Request Transfer Code” button to get your transfer code.

When I transferred the domain, I disabled private registration, and I got the transfer code in my email. I was able to start the transfer, but then the transfer failed (and has several times).
Please let me know if you have any suggestions of what I can do.

Sorry for the trouble! I’m checking with our domain registrar to find out why private registration is still enabled on your domain (even after you tried to disable it). Once I get that sorted out I’ll let you know, and you’ll be able to try the transfer again.

Hello again,
So I followed all of the steps and accepted the “Pending Transfer” on my domain transfer to Wix, but when I went to Wix.com, it says that the transfer failed.
I don’t know what to do so that the transfer will work.
Any suggestions?

I’m sorry it still isn’t working for you. I’m checking with our domain registrar again to see why that transfer is still failing.
In the meantime, do you want me to help you point your domain to Wix so you can start using it there now? You can also do this yourself by following the steps in our Change Name Servers guide, to point your domain to Wix’s name servers.

That way you can start using your domain at Wix while we sort out transferring the domain’s registration there.

I tried to do the transfer again through wix and it seems to be going through this time. And when I went to the wordpress domain tab, I was given the option to accept the transfer, which I had never seen before. Wix says that it should take 5-7 days for the transfer to go through, so I will let you know if it goes through or not. I am hopeful that it will as private registration is off. Thank you so much for the help!! -
