Cannot turn off comments on pages

  I cannot turn off the comment function on pages. On articles, it works. Not pages.

  Could this have to do with the theme – Twenty Twelve?

  Edit the page, open screen options (button in upper right) and check that “discussion” is selected. Then scroll down on the page to the discussion section and uncheck the boxes to allow comments and allow trackbacks and pingbacks.

  I have a similar problem but it relates to the gallery widget. Even though discussions are disabled on the page , comments are enabled on the photos. I have also gone to Discussions on the Dashboard and found nothing that will shut them off. Comments are gone when the widget is set to slideshow. I’m using the Responsive theme.

  You will need to disable comments on the photos. Go to the photos in the media library, use screen options to selection “discussion” if necessary, and uncheck comments, pingbacks, and trackbacks options.

  It looks as if you will have to do this for each image in the gallery unless someone knows a way to do it for all.
