Cannot turn off comments on pages already created

    I want to turn off comments on a page.
    The directions say I should find the “discussion module” on the edit screen (and gives a nice example of what this should look like. However, the edit screen for the page from which I want to remove the comment option does not have a “discussion module,” so it is impossible to uncheck the indicated boxes.

    Do I have to delete all my pages and start over with appropriate defaults?

    Your discussion module is probably hidden (which is the default) on the page editing screen. See the section Missing Discussion Module on the comments support page to see how to find it
