Hi there,
Are you making your changes here:
https://forestsongfarm.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=9&action=editAnd then clicking update?
Can you please provide a bit more detail about what you’re attempting to update and what exactly happens when you press Update?
Could you please edit your post from Firefox or Internet Explorer and let me know if you have the same problem in that browser?

I just changed the text in Now Harvesting and also changed my home page feature image but that is not exactly what i wanted to do. I have been trying to change the feature image in Now Harvesting for months without success – it just won’t change. I wonder if it’s because it is a “permalink” and it’s called “news” because that was one page i used to have – news doesn’t exist anymore but when i pull up Now Harvesting the …news label in the url appears as though that is the page i am working on.
Here’s what i just did…
I went into the website’s Now Harvesting page from google using chrome browser – I made the changes to the post using edit and changed the date – so the changes appear current.
But now I have no record of the previous post or the photo i had there. Also, I would prefer to have the home page feature picture stay the same (forest in summer) but now that photo is gone too. However, it was the only way i could get an updated photo to appear on the Now Harvesting page (maple sap bucket on tree) and i thought that was important. For some reason, the “featured image” will not change on certain pages.

okay – i just went to the link you provided for Now Harvesting and it is an old change that i had tried to make earlier – it didn’t take – that is now out of date because of the changes i have made since – as i just described to you in my submission above

Hi there,
The featured image in your theme is displayed as a custom header image on the specific page or post it’s attached to. So, you currently have the sap bucket set as your custom header on Now Harvesting, and this is what’s showing:
http://forestsongfarm.com/news/To change that picture, you can edit the page here:
https://forestsongfarm.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=9&action=editThere, find the Featured Image module, and click the link “remove featured image.”
https://cloudup.com/cmVhEitIJytThat will remove it and you can set a new featured image. This guide shows how to deal with featured images:
Featured ImagesTo put the old featured image back on your front page, you’ll need to edit that page:
https://forestsongfarm.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=4&action=editRemove the sap bucket featured image in the same way and set the correct featured image for that page.
One last thing. It looks like you’re editing your News page each time you want to change the information there. You might consider setting that page as your “posts” page in Settings->Reading here:
https://forestsongfarm.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.phpThen, you could add your news in posts, rather than pages, and they’ll post on that page in reverse-chronological order, so you don’t have to delete the older news from your site altogether.

I no longer have http://forestsongfarm.com/news/
I removed that page some time ago but it seems to have become the “Now Harvesting” page
Can you please tell me where it is?
I find the url addresses so confusing
I know how to set the featured images – I have set several of them on my pages but for some reason the photo doesn’t always “take” even when i adjust the size. The Now Harvesting page was one example. For some reason the front page featured image is linked to the Now Harvesting featured image – i cannot change one without the other changing too.
I will keep working away at it – I am not very good with computers. But thank you for your help. This website service is wonderful. I would never have been able to create a website on my own. One more question – I paid to have the domain name http://www.forestsongfarm.com for a year, will I be prompted when that year is up to renew to make sure I continue to keep the name? I cannot remember the exact date i signed up.

Ok, I can help clear up some confusion.
Whenever you create a new post or page, you give it a title (say “Now Harvesting”) and a URL for the post or page (a “permalink”) is also created automatically, usually matching the title, say http://forestsongfarm.com/now-harvesting/
However, if you later edit that post or page and change the title, the permalink doesn’t automatically update (although you can manually change it).
You created a page with the permalink http://forestsongfarm.com/news/ (I’m guessing your title was “News”) and then later, you edited it and changed the actual title to “Now Harvesting.” But the permalink stays the same, so it’s still there at http://forestsongfarm.com/news/
That page is still here:
http://forestsongfarm.com/news/And to edit it, you would go here:
https://forestsongfarm.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=9&action=editYou can see the title and permalink at the top, like this:
https://cloudup.com/ceYSL6ktIxlDoes that clear things up a bit?
For some reason the front page featured image is linked to the Now Harvesting featured image – i cannot change one without the other changing too.
Could you please try changing the featured image here:
https://forestsongfarm.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=4&action=editOnce you’ve changed that one, if it changes the other, please leave it as is and reply here so I can take a look.
One more question – I paid to have the domain name http://www.forestsongfarm.com for a year, will I be prompted when that year is up to renew to make sure I continue to keep the name?
Yes. You can check the expiration date in Store->My Upgrades here:
https://forestsongfarm.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgradesYou can also set up automatic renewal there, so it will renew automatically one month before expiration, and then you don’t have to think about it.
