Cannot upload html file to verify my blog with Google Analytics

  I am trying to verify my wordpress blog (amishmashlife.wordpress.com) with Google Analytics by going to Tools, Available Tools, and then entering the content (5718820d0c92fcc3) in the appropriate box and saving. I keep on getting Verification failed when I try and verify the site on Google. Maybe this is because I have changed my site name a couple of times? Please help.

  Google Analytics cannot be used on a WordPress.com blog.

  Not sure what you’re trying to do, but GA is not permitted here.

  Are you talking about Webmaster Tools?

  Sorry, I meant Google Webmaster Tools! Do not have an editor so cannot edit the html, so went with second option of entering the content in the Tools section.
