cannot upload images

  I am trying to upload jpg’s, pdf’s,and also a video. None have uploaded. Do I have to have them in a certain file size? I see no info in the “Learn WordPress” documents on that–it just says find the image and upload it. I have also tried two different browsers. All I see is what looks like a link to the image but isn’t. Can anyone advise?
