Cannot upload media and update WordPress on this site

    Hi, we have a problem with uploading media from WordPress and updating new version of WordPress. When uploading a new image, it said ‘The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads/2023/04’. All the old images are not shown as well. We tried to follow suggestions online(changes the permission/upload the image directly from Filezilla) but they all not working. And also, if we try to updating WordPress version, it will show this error:
    Could not create directory.

    As my website is crucial for my organization , I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide to help me solve this issue. If there are any specific steps that I need to follow or any information that you require from me, please do let me know.

    Hey there @duxyfdm, could you check in with your hosting company on this? If file permissions are okay, there may be some other server issue.

    Hi @supernovia. Thank you for your response. We are interested in moving our website to WordPress due to issues with our current hosting company, including lost access and lack of maintenance. Our goal is to restore the WordPress website dashboard so that we can upload images and edit pages using these images. Additionally, we have other websites with the same hosting company, but we are unable to access the account to address the issue. We would like to integrate these other websites with our main site by linking them together. We also need to maintain our domain name unchanged after moving to a WordPress host.

    Could you please provide us with recommendations for planning the move to WordPress? We would also appreciate an estimated cost breakdown for the migration process.

    Hi, thank you for your reply.

    We have an existing website on WordPress and I think we do not need to rebuild the site. Also, we will have some members of the club maintain the website. So I am just wondering if is there any service/plan from WordPress that help us to fix the problem with the hosting company(transfer the hosting to WordPress)?

    We don’t have a migration service, but with the WordPress.com Business plan, you can migrate your entire site to WordPress.com by yourself. We recommend the Business plan because it enables you to use custom themes and plugins, so your site can be migrated to WordPress.com as-is (for the most part).
