cannot upload theme

Hi, I don’t have an option on my dashboard to add a theme. There is no such option as to ‘upload’ or even ‘search’ for a theme – is this normal? I would like to use one theme that I’ve downloaded. What can I do? Many thanks.

Themes cannot be uploaded to WordPress.com, only self-hosted sites using WordPress.org. The difference between the two is described here:

Hi Jeremy, thanks for getting back to me so soon! I would like to use the theme ‘Onetone’ ( https://wordpress.org/themes/onetone/), but as I said I cannot seem to be able to integrate it into my WordPress dashboard.

You won’t be able to use the Onetone theme as it’s a self-hosted theme, not a WordPress.com theme. However, we have several themes at WordPress.com that are similar. How about these?

Hi again Jeremy, how can one use a self-hosted theme? I have read online that you may download one, and then upload it again on wordpress, but I am missing the “add theme” or “upload” button. Can you help me with this?

Themes can only be uploaded to self-hosted sites, not those hosted at WordPress.com. The guide you’re referencing is referring to a self-hosted site. Your site centralcitylets.com is hosted at WordPress.com. The difference is broken down here:
