I’ve had to set up this new account just to get help with accessing my old account.

My problem is that I forgot the password to my old account. The email associated with that account is a hotmail account which no longer works – I can’t access any of the emails there – so when the password reset email is sent to it I can’t get at it.

I also don’t have 2 step verification or have any note of the original activation link.

I really want access to my old blog as it has stuff in the drafts I’d like to save to my computer.

    Can anyone help?

    Best

    John

    Hello Customer Service,

My name is Giacomo Piovan (from Luxembourg) and I have the same problem of John.

I have a free blog set up with wordpress.com on this address: https://farmingpollution.wordpress.com

Little history fact: before the blog was called https://pionalabo.wordpress.com
my username was: ‘Pionimero’ and my e-mail ‘(email visible only to moderators and staff)’

I want to log-in on it as I’ve to upload important information about a design projects.I tried to log in to the blog but I’ve forgotten the username and password. None worked.

Then around 2014 I changed my account and blog title in Farming Pollution. I was for all the last couple of years always logged in and so I never had to log-in again and remember my password.

Until the day I found the log-in page and so scary…. I forgot both of them!
Normal password recovery does not work. I don’t know why.

A bit desperate I then I tried to ‘Account Recovery’, but the problem is that I don’t information such as activation URL or key and I’ve bever set up a back-up code (it was never asked to do so).

I need you help to don’t be locked out from my blog(s): please help me!

Sadly old emails (containing username and password) have disappeared from my Hotmail/Outlook.com account during the very bad movement of Microsoft. see reference: https://askleo.com/how-can-i-get-my-lost-hotmail-emails-back/

I’m not sure what to do next. I’ve tried all the usernames I can think of, I’ve tried all my emails, I cannot get into the account and I cannot contact humans in wordpress.

Please can someone give me a new password and username for my blog?

Thank you in advance and don’t hesitate to contact me personally to clarify.

    Best Regards,

    Giacomo

Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.

You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard. The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:

    http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

    * You will have to replace “name_of_blog” with the actual blog’s name in that URL.

There is a single email address that can be used on only one username account and not on any others, regardless of how many blogs are registered under that username account. The blog’s owner can change the relevant email address on their accounts page at https://wordpress.com/me/account

For Issues Changing your Email Address see https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-address/#issues-changing-your-email-address

    Also, consult these guides:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-address/
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-notifications/gmail-issues/

This support doc https://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/ covers how the blog’s owner can change or reset their account password, and keeping their WordPress.com account (and other online services) secure. See also Selecting a Strong Password https://en.support.wordpress.com/selecting-a-strong-password/

After the blog’s owner logs in clicking this link should display all blogs registered under the same username account, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden

If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then you need to follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibility

If the log-in information is lost you need to visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

If you check each and every possible email address and account and are not successful gaining access to the blog(s) then the blog’s owner must complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff, and provide proof ownership, so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums, which are available to everyone with internet access.

    Dear Timethief,

Thank you for the reply. I’ve tried to follow the Account Recovery link but unfortunately it does not solve my situation because I cannot find the codes that are asked:

Do you have a transaction ID? > No because I’ve never purchased wordpress material.

Do you have an activation URL or key? > it was in my hotmail account that has been deleted by Microsoft (info: https://askleo.com/how-can-i-get-my-lost-hotmail-emails-back/)

Do you have two factor authentication codes? > again no, because back in 2014 this was not asked by wordpress administrators.

I hope there is a solution if I only could contact the Account Recovery Staff . At the moment I only sent an e-mail to support@wordpress.com (but no answer).

Thank you in advance and have a nice week-end.

It has been quite a while since anyone has responded to this thread. I have the same issue as Mathieuoly (Giacomo). I can’t fill out the form as I don’t have the information for the same reasons as Mathieuoly.

I find it very poor on the part of WordPress that they can’t provide a solution to this. I am sure that it is not just Mathieuoly and myself who are having this issue.

I would appreciate a response to this.

    Best

    John
