can't access blog or reset password

After using my WordPress account for years, I am suddenly unable to sign into dashboard for my blog using my current password. I tried to reset the password, but WordPress announces it doesn’t have any account with my email address. It does recognize my username, promises to send a reset password link, but the link never arrives. I have never had any other e-mail address for this account, and I’ve had the WordPress blog account since 2006. I’m completely baffled. I can sign into the WordPress account itself, and my blog appears there, but it will not change the blog password, just the account password. The blog has the same e-mail address as the account.
I can’t use account recovery because I have not received any transaction IDs for this blog, as I’ve never made any purchases for it, though I have for my other sites on WordPress. I no longer have my activation URL and I don’t have two-step authentication. What am I supposed to do?
