  Yes, below is the error I get:

  Ok, I think I see what is going on.

  You have a Site Redirect upgrade from us that is redirecting your blog visitors to jenniferwilck.com/blog/. Unfortunately, that blog isn’t hosted here at WordPress.com, so we can’t help you fix the problem.

  You’ll need to contact your hosting provider for jenniferwilck.com (it looks like aplus.net?) as soon as possible to get your site back up and running.

  Okay. For the future, is there anyway to prevent this from happening the next time WordPress asks for an update?

  The best thing to do is to make sure any plugins you are running are up to date and compatible with the WordPress version you are updating to. You can check the plugin compatibility by visiting http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ and searching for the plugin.
