Can't access my dashboard or support forums.

Yes, there is a body of knowledge about how it was handled last time. Hundreds of people complained to their ISPs, who stopped blocking WordPress.com.
Some people have also had success simply doing the cookie dance, or using another browser. Cookie dance: http://raincoastermedia.com/2012/05/01/the-cookie-dance/

@raincoaster, Unless I am very much mistaken, the solutions came when WP (VERY belatedly) woke up and started doing something by talking to the ISPs. The helpdesk guys in Bangalore are programmed to follow a script — they do not unlock problems like this.

I reported on it at the time for the news outlet I was working for. The change came as far as I could determine when the companies started to get publicly embarrassed about it in the media.

Just been to the library again to access my blog. I guess this problem is now permanent as no one seems to be doing anything about it.

Ongoing here too, no response from ISP. Am considering getting a mobile dongle with Virgin just for the blog. Does anyone know if Virgin have this block on, Virgin call centre staff don’t know.

I’m using Chrome, in the UK, and it wasn’t working whenever I clicked ‘create a new blog’, and when I loaded up the dashboard, it was really slow. However, I ‘cleaned’ my computer using CCleaner, opened it up again, and it worked fine! :) I will most likely have to clean in again in the future to keep it running so smoothly, but I should probably do it more often anyway.

I’d like to know what right a bunch of self-appointed vigilantes called the Internet Watch Foundation has to comprehensively block access to the world’s largest blog provider via major ISPs.
But thanks for the link. Here again:

So the last update we got was four days ago and still poor access to WordPress.
This is beyond frustrating.

Hi all
For the record I am with AOL in UK and have been hit this way several times before. the version I got from forums was that is is a problem relating to a cluster of ISPs including Talktalk and AOL who use the same servers and preiviousy it was resolved as far as I was aware by the WordPress team.
I appreciate Raincoaster’s frustration as it’s no more under WP’s control than it is the users. I’m willing to contact my ISP but because of the regularity of the problem (3 times in 6 months?) surely representations still need to be made at a higher level ie by WordPress.
Thanks to those battling on our behalf.

Not only do you have trouble using admin features because of this problem. Your visitors using the UK isps the problem is with cannot access your website either.

thank for reposting that dashboard errors link but is it not another case of ‘no data received error’ – exactly like last July and November? https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/talk-talk-no-data-received-error?replies=40
would have thought it would be prompter to resolve by now – took a week last time and how come it keeps happening?
BTW – the ISP customer services simply make us jump through hoops according to a script as at this level they have no knowledge of the blocked access. Last time I used twitter to prod them and have contacted again but no reply @TalkTalk_UK -
Have you folks tried tweeting to your ISP’s so your tweets can be read by everyone on Twitter?

firefox seems to be a very common thread in these comments. i switched browser and problem solved

I cleared history/cache etc. in both Safari and Firefox but only Firefox lets me into my dashboard to edit….

Been in touch with TalkTalk today – they offered three solutions:
1) put Kids Safe on, and whitelist wordpress.com, then turn it off (?!) (and if this did work for me, it wouldn’t mean the rest of the world was suddenly able to see my blogs)
2) opt out of their bad web addresses tool (then the CS guy decided this wasn’t necessary)
3) change MTU on the router from auto to manual and put it to the setting of 1432 (don’t understand this, but I’m successfully on fibre and have been for over a year, and never have probs loading websites apart from *.wordpress.com)
I use Windows Vista and 8.1 laptops via Chrome on domain mapped and wordpress.com hosted blogs. Everything either doesn’t load or loads very slowly, or occasionally gives error messages. What gets me is if my sites were being effectively blocked, my lack of access would surely be consistent. But in truth it’s only partial. Does anyone understand at all what’s going on here?
