Can’t Access my Former WP.com Blog Site

Back in May 2020, I created my first ever WordPress.com Blogsite (meant for U.S. Veterans (which I believe was titled: “Mabuhay U.S. Veterans to the Philippines”. . Since I believed this site was doing so good, I then created a similar WordPress.com Blogsite that was titled “Mabuhay Expats” (which didn’t do so good). I then combined the two and then re-created “Welcome U.S. Veterans to the Philippines” (https://welcomeusveteranstothephilippines.wordpress.com/), which still shows active on WordPress and then deleted the Expat Posts, leaving everything as “Veteran Related”. I then (for whatever reason) couldn’t sign back into this site (even though I keep a “cheatsheet” of passwords and sign-in websites for me to us, when I have trouble remembering the website that I need to access). So, I then created my most recent WordPress.com Blogsite titled Mabuhay/Welcome U.S. Veterans to the Philippines (https://wordpress.com/mabuhaywelcomeusveteranstothephilippines.wordpress.com).

So, here’s my problem: When I try to access the former website (meaning “Welcome U.S. Veterans to the Philippines“), the wordpress blogsite appears in my search on the internet with Google Chrome and of course when I click on it, it opens in my WordPress.com Web / Blogsite. However, when I click on the upper left hand corner, where it says “My Site“, it automatically takes me to the most current WP.com Blogsite titled “Mabuhay/Welcome U.S. Veterans to the Philippines“! So, how do I get this resolved, as my thought was to review all my former posts, copying them and then re-post on my current WP.com Blogsite and eventually closing down the former WP.com Blogsite. However, If need be, how can I link both the former and the current WP.com Blogsites together, so I can bounce back and forth from each blogsite?

    Thanking you ahead of time.

Hi there, do you need to be logged in with a different username account to this one? I see a number of previous forum threads mentioning “Mabuhay Expats” from this other WordPress.com account https://wordpress.com/forums/users/welcomeusveteranstothephilippines/

    Hello justjennifer!

I believe that I will need to log-in with a different username and password for this account. However, what occurred to me, everything was working perfectly with this blog site prior to my being admitted to a hospital for surgery (that took place on 11/8/2023) and was hospitalized for 4-days. Upon being released, I wasn’t able to use my left arm, forearm, hand or fingers and, when it came time to enter my former password and user name, WordPress some how changed my information, and I can’t get it. Thus, I decided to creat my newest WordPress.com Web/Blog Site titled mabuhaywelcomeusveteranstothephilippines.wordpress.com and, soon realized that the sign-in email and password that I had been using all this time, has somehow been removed / deleted by WordPress (per a Customer Service Agent with Microsoft…whom I spoke to last night), saying that when I created a matching email account to correspond with the WordPress.com Website that I created, that the password, no longer was with Microsoft and it became part of WordPress.com (unsure if this makes any sense to you as it surely doesn’t make much sense to me either). (NOTE: I tried multiple times to sign-in and was unsuccessful, when I decided to try using my personal email with password and voila, I was able to get in and use that same password with my newly created WordPress.com Web / Blog Site. I even read on the internet, that supposedly WordPress is now removing and having customer’s password every 4-months…which makes it quite confusing to me, as I am a Senior Citizen in my mid-70s and use BitWarden Password Manager to save all my passwords for the various websites that I use to include a “Cheat Sheet” with a list of all my passwords so that if BitWarden isn’t working correctly, then at least I can sign-in with a different method.)

So, whatever you can do to assist me, I would very much appreciate hearing back from you.

    Respectfully,

    American Veteran – 4nag8a9pu1lko5rup0

    Hello justjennifer!

It’s been a couple of days since I last wrote to you and never received a response. So I did some further research on my end and I noticed, that when I enter my former WP Website title: http://welcomeusveteranstothephilippines.wordpress.com and then click on “My Site” in the upper left hand corner, I am immediately taken to my current WP Website titled: https://mabuhaywelcomeusveteranstothephilippines.wordpress.com/ and am wondering why is this occurring? Did both accounts somehow get mixed together without my knowledge as it only shows in the upper left corner of my home page, the Current WP Title, when I still have more than 300+ posts that I published on my former http://welcomeusveteranstothephilippines.wordpress.com that I haven’t be able to enter, due to not being able to find the correct email and password to link it to? Otherwise, I am at a loss, as I had hoped that I could link both accounts individually and now, am at a loss as to what happened?

    Thanking You Ahead of Time.

    Respectfully,

    American Veteran

P.S. I have read other WordPress.com Users that have had the same problem that I do with not being able to log-into their WordPress.com Accounts and “used other methods” (such as indicating to whomever at WP, as to what the WordPress.com Individual who created their site, information that they remembered about their site, so they were successful in once again, gaining access to their site. So, if this is a possibility, then I would also like to hear back from you.

    Hello again, life happens. :)

When you click on this link https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs do you see your other website? If you do see it, first you can make it visible in your My Sites drop down list by changing it to Visible. You do that by hovering your cursor over the site name and at the far right of your browser screen you should see the words, “Make Visible.” Click that and the site should then appear in the drop down list at My Sites.

If you want can make that site your Primary website, go to your account settings at https://wordpress.com/me/account and select it from the drop down list under “Primary site”.

If none of that is working for you, i.e. you don’t see your other site in this account you are posting from, then you’ll need to log into that other account (if you own it). Make sure you are logged out of this account first before you try to reset the password for the other account. https://wordpress.com/support/passwords/

Barring that you’ll need to use the account recovery form https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/ which asks for some information that you should not post here in our public forums.

    Hope that helps.

    Hello justjennifer !

Sorry for the late response, as the we are having severe weather here in our part of the Philippines. When I clicked on this website that you provided to me (https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs)m) the only WP Web / Blogsite that appears is the most recent WP Web / Blogsite titled as “mabuhay/welcomeusveteranstothephilippines” and there is no mention whatsoever of the former WP Web / Blogsite. Additionally, when I entered the olderer (former WP Web / Blogsite (using my Google Chrome Internet Browser, entering: welcomeusveteranstothephilippinescom.wordpress.com – WordPress says that it doesn’t exist!

Additionally, I would like to shed some new information that occurred yesterday. When I attempted to “reset the password” for http://welcomeusveteranstothephilippines.wordpress.com, Word Press said that a reset code would be sent to the Outlook Email Address (see attached photo below) that I set up for this particular WordPress.com Web/Blog Site. Yet, no reset code was ever received. So, I visited the “Microsoft Account / Your Profile Page” and, much to my surprise, the email address that I created is NOT listed! So, I took a photograph of the upper right hand side of the email account “(email visible only to moderators and staff)” (which I have attached to this message, as proof, that the Outlook.com Email Account that I set up to match my WordPress.com Web / Blogsite matches) and am unsure what the next step is? If I can’t access my WordPress.com wesbite and can’t receive the reset code, then unsure what else you may be able to provide, as I am at a total loss, as to what to do next? Plese be advised that I submitted a similar query to MIcrosoft and received a response from a customer service representative, stating that “she would try to help me”. So, I sent her a similar message lst night like I am now sending to you this morning and, she hasn’t responded either (possibly because she too is stymied…like I am).

Another thing that is puzzling, WordPress mentioned that my other WordPress.com Blog Site is running – but if it’s running, then why does everything say otherwise with WordPress?

So, hopefully we can get this issue resolved, as I have more than 300-articles that I posted to http://welcomeusveteranstothephilippines.wordpress.com and am now afraid, that IF I can’t access my former (still my current wordpress.com site along with the other wordpress that I am using that I created last month), all will be lost.

    Respectfully,

    American Veteran

Hello again, I’ve just visited the website https://welcomeusveteranstothephilippines.wordpress.com/ and all the articles there look to be written by the other account https://wordpress.com/forums/users/welcomeusveteranstothephilippines/ whose last post here in these forums was 4 months ago and whose last post on the website was December 11, 2023. So it appears you had access to that account at some point.

I’m not able to help with the email issue issue you mentioned, but I’ve flagged your thread for Staff assistance. Thanks for your patience while they get back to you. In the meantime, you might try these options:

If none of that is working for you, i.e. you don’t see your other site in this account you are posting from, then you’ll need to log into that other account (if you own it). Make sure you are logged out of this account first before you try to reset the password for the other account. https://wordpress.com/support/passwords/

    justjennifer,

Of course I own it! So why is it that I when I try to have a recovery message sent to my email address with the same name (welcomeusveteransinthephilippines) expecting to receive a recovery code to create a new password…nothing arrives! I even got a Microsoft Independent Advisor involved and after speaking to her five days, she suggested that I send a test message from my personal email to the welcomeusveteransinthephilippines email, it might appear…WHICH IT DOES! I even had my two adult children send TEST Emails to the welcomeusveteransinthephilippines and their emails arrived too! So, something isn’t quite right. Please note, when I enter the “About Page” of the WordPress Web / Blog Site that I created “https://welcomeusveteranstothephilippines.wordpress.com/” my site appears. Yet, when I click in the upper left hand corner (where it says “My Site“) it takes me to the newest WordPress.com Web / Blog Site (which is: https://mabuhaywelcomeusveteranstothephilippines.wordpress.com/ ) that I created in early January 2024 and NOT to my former WordPress.com Web / Blog Site! I even entered my password correctly (which I have saved on a Word Cheat Sheet and on my Password Manager) and for some unknown reason, that password is now considered incorrect…which doesn’t make any sense to me!!

My former WordPress.com Web / Blogsite has over 300+ posts that are for U.S. Veterans that are contemplating a permanent move too the Philippines as well as posts that I generated from start to finish, titled “Constructing Our Home in the Philippines” (which I believe constitutes 50+ articles) such as “Installing Ceiling Fans and Interior / Exterior Lighting” and I now can’t access this site and am at a total loss as to why? Hence, if I could merge the two into one the WordPress.com Web / Blog Site (the newest WordPress Web / Blogsite titled “https://mabuhaywelcomeusveteranstothephilippines.wordpress.com/” then I would be very happy! I read on WordPress, where one of yourselves, asked the owner that created his WordPress Sites, several questions, about what they posted and, eventually the owner was allowed to gain entry to what they wrote. So, IF YOU could do the same, I would very much appreciate all that you coud do for me!

    Thanking you ahead of time.

Philippine Paul (former name I used with my former WordPress.com Site) / American Veteran (newest name I used with my current WordPress.com Site)

Hi @4nag8a9pu1lko5rup0 I think it will help if I point out that @justjennifer is a trusted volunteer and community member here on the forums, but not a member of staff. As helpful as she has been here (Thanks Jen!) she does not have access to your account and cannot help you to log in to it.

However, I can confirm that in order to access welcomeusveteranstothephilippines.wordpress.com you must log out of your @4nag8a9pu1lko5rup0 account, and instead log in as welcomeusveteranstothephilippines in order to proceed.

Unfortunately staff is not able to help here in tour support forums either. This is because verifying account ownership requires you to provide private info that is best not shared in this public venue.

With this in mind, please fill out this form here to the best of your ability: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

This will send all the info you have to our account recovery team, and from there they will contact you directly to assist you in regaining access to the account that owns the site you are trying to access. Thanks!
