Can’t access my FTP connection
-
I was thinking to switch over to WP.org and I went to open my FTP connection which I knew I’d need. Since I redirected my domain name to my WP.com blog a month ago, I can’t open my ftp connection. What gives? Does the sign in information automatically change when you redirect your domain name?

WordPress.com doesn’t provide FTP access.

When I changed the DNS settings so that my domain would be for my WP blog, I inadvertently changed what I would need to connect to my original host. I think I’ve answered my own question but I’m not sure.

Sorry, I understand now – you’re trying to FTP to your old host. You can probably use the IP address instead of the domain name to do that. Your hosting company probably gave you an IP address or temporary subdomain when you signed up – try that.

Will I need to reset my DNS settings to the default for my old host before transitioning to wp.org?
