Can't access my old domain

    I registered a domain probably in 2013. Changed to a different domain and didn’t do anything with the original. Now I want to reactivate it- how do I do that? When I go to domains on my blog, it says that it’s not available. When I went through blue host to use that domain, they said it’s with wordpress.com and being hosted by wild west. I called wild west and they need me to authenticate myself to prove I can have access to the domain. I don’t know how to do that.
