Can't Access New Blog Account
-
I accidentally created a new blog under this name, when I thought I was creating it under the blog’s name. I thought I could fix the problem by going in and transferring ownership of the blog, so I added the email that should have been attached to the blog. That email sent me to a page that just asked me to start a new blog.
So then I tried to create a new WordPress/Gravatar account not attached to a blog, and this took a little bit of Googling to get to that page. When I tried to use the email and my blog’s name, the system said that name was already taken.
Well of course it was taken. I had just taken it 10 minutes earlier when I created the blog. So I read the help pages and they advised that usernames are ‘reserved’ for individuals with no real advice on how to fix this. So my username is reserved for me, because it is my blog that I just started, but I cannot access it or attach my email to it.
How do I get access my new blog account username and set up a password and attach an email address to it? I would appreciate any help.
Oh, and ignore the line below…this query has nothing to do with this blog and I’m frustrated that I cannot post a topic directly from the forums main page without the thread being automatically closed by the system. I’m on day three of trying to fight with the WordPress forum system.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I see three blogs in this account:
https://exchangingfire.wordpress.com/
https://fromeuropetoamerica.wordpress.com/
https://savoryhoney.wordpress.com/
Do I understand correctly that you want one of these sites to be managed by a different username?
Then you will need to transfer ownership of the blog to the other username. You can do that from this page:
https://exchangingfire.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs
Hover your mouse over the title of the blog you want to transfer, and click the Transfer Blog option that appears. Enter the username of the new owner, and then log in as the other username and accept the transfer. That will completely remove this username from the blog, and you’ll only be able to manage it when logged in as the new username account.

I just tried the transfer and it did not work. It asked for the username or email of the user to receive the blog, so I entered the email address and it said:
You cannot transfer to that user
To be clear, I DO NOT have a username attached to the email address I am using at the moment. The username I want to use should be the same as the blog, but because the blog was created first I cannot access the username that should be attached to it.
So what now?

Thanks for the link, by the way. Even though it didn’t work for the new blog i just created, I was able to completely transfer ownership of an old blog which has been bothering me for months.
I still need to figure out how to make a new username for this new blog that is the same as my blog name and my email. This is about branding, mainly, and I can’t get anything to work so far.

You cannot transfer to a username that does not exist. In this case, you’ll need to create a new account using a different username, and transfer the site to that account.
After you transfer the site you should then be able change the new account’s username to match the blog’s URL. But the account will need to own the site first before it can use the matching username.
Note that you can also set a public display name that’s different from your username. The public display name will appear as author of the posts on your site and whenever you leave a comment, so from a branding perspective you might want to do that. You can set the display name in your account settings:

I’m glad to hear that :)
And on another note, we’re looking into why your posts were being marked as spam. It should stop happening soon.
