Can’t access old account/site
-
I tried to recover an old account but can’t find the required proof of authentication. I am still receiving email alerts to about people following my blog, however, I can’t sign in because it says the user does not exist. I don’t have the original email that was sent to the email i set up the account with because that was 9 years ago. Can you help me get into this old account?
In addition, I’m trying to access my account because I’d like to actually delete the aforementioned site but is there a way to download the information from the site first? Or do I have to just print out all the pages?
Thank you,
Rayden

Hello,
I will flag your post for staff follow up by adding a modlook tag.
Here is a link that you may have already seen about Account Recovery:
if it helps, there is more than one way to provide proof of ownership through the Account Recovery Form.

Hi there, if you are still receiving those notification emails to an active email account, another possibility is to enter that email address in the password reset form here: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword When you go to sign in, you can use either the username or the associated email address.
Let us know how that goes.

Hi raydensorock,
What is the username of the account or URL of the site you need help with?
If you are receiving notification emails for that account/site, please try following @justjennifer’s suggestion of resetting the password with the email address rather than the username (if you do not know it).
Let me know how you get on.
