Can’t access paid-subscriber content, even though I am a paid subscriber
-
I have an active paid subscription to https://therabidcapitalist.com/. I see the active subscription under my account’s ‘Purchases’ page, and it is set to auto-renew on Oct. 1st. When I try to access the paid subscriber content, it tells me I am only a free subscriber. I was able to access this content all month, up until about a day or two ago.
Hoping to receive help for this issue. It is extremely frustrating that there is no direct support contact / chat feature to help with this issue. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I see that your thread is flagged for Staff assistance, but there’s also another paid subscriber of that site therabidcapitalist who posted and was answered by staff here https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/subscription-265/#post-3989359
Perhaps some of that advice will help you as well.

Thanks. But I can’t access the subscriber content on any device. iPhone, PC, different browsers. etc. The content was sent directly to my gmail inbox and now it is not. I get the site’s free newsletter content still delivered so it’s not an issue with delivery to my inbox either.

Hi there, @thecount27 and @dmk451,
I see you both as subscribers to the site but as unpaid subscribers. Did you both receive confirmation of your subscription purchase or did you cancel the subscription?
-
I did receive email confirmation and in fact, when I go to this page: https://wordpress.com/subscriptions/sites/ -> it shows me as a paid subscriber. I subscribed on 9/21 and was able to see the paid content up until about a couple of days ago.

Hi @thecount27 out of curiosity what is the browser that you are using?
Usually when an issue like this occurs, it can be traced to an expired (or broken) login auth cookie stored on your local web browser. With this in mind I would like you to try clearing your cache and cookies by following the steps here:
If that does not help, out a browser-related issue, please try any alternate browser temporarily. For example, if you have this issue in Chrome, do you have the same issue in Firefox? In a new browser you will need to log in once (since you are likely not already logged in to WordPress.com) but for subsequent comments do you appear to stay logged in?
If the issue you’re experiencing is not present on a different browser to the one you normally use, your browser is the likely cause so it well help to know that, thanks!

Hello @staff-totoro – this happens in safari and chrome and even happens on the WordPress app on iOS.

Yeah I’ve experienced the same issues regardless of the browser and device I am using. The subscriber content was also in the form of a newsletter that got pushed to my school email account, which I stopped receiving. Seems like this issue is impacting multiple users and does not seem like it is associated with a web-browser cache or cookie related.
Regardless, my subscription has officially expired. I renewed my subscription to the site using a different email address and can now access the subscriber content again. Hopefully I don’t run into the same issue with this new account. -
My susbcription was on 9/21 and this issue arose around 9/28, so unless fixed, this problem will persist for me. @staff-totoro @staff-doublebassd

Staff – here are two more paid subscribers of this same site having access issues

Thanks @2020testjj – looks like all of these involve the same site, too. We’ll do some troubleshooting.

Hey @dmk451 and @thecount27, we were able to spot and resolve the issue & are reaching out to the site owner from here. Cheers :) And @2020testjj – thank you for your help in spotting those other cases.
