Can't access site
-
I’m hoping this message will find its way to someone at WordPress. I haven’t been able to find any way to contact them directly.
(Does anyone know how to contact WP directly? When I sent a message to support@wordpress.com, I got an automated response, telling me to use their live chat. But the link only sends me to this forum page.)On Jan. 3, I paid $120 for a new WordPress site, along with a domain name.
After spending a few minutes poking around and changing the About page, I stepped away from my computer. When I returned, I was unable to access the back end of my site, in order to edit it.
I think the problem may stem from the fact that I have/had two different WordPress profiles — one I created a few years ago for myself (to subscribe to other WP sites) and another that was created for me by my work (I no longer work there). I think it’s possible the new site was created under my work profile, which I can’t access anymore.
Ideally, I’d like to have my new site moved to my personal WordPress profile, so I can access the back end and edit it.
If the new site can’t be found or transferred to my personal profile, I’d like to simply shut it down and start over.
Thanks for your help. -
Hi Stephen,
I don’t see any purchases under the account you’re using to post to this forum. It would be really helpful if you could provide me with your website’s address so I can have a look at what’s in going on.
Thanks!

It’s stephenripley.net.
I think that’s the problem … the purchase was made under my old work account, rather than my personal account. Even though it’s been months since I worked there, I guess I was automatically logged into it when I visited WordPress. Now I can’t get into it, since the two-factor authentication sends a text to my old work phone, which I no longer have. -
