Can't access site admin page (dashboard) since the toolbar changed

A few days ago, the admin bar (the black bar over the top of my WordPress blog) changed. I used to be able to click right through to access all comments, spam, write a new blog post, etc.
Now, all of that seems unavailable. I can’t figure out how to get into a blog I share with friends in order to add a ‘Site Admin’ plug-in so we can get to the Site Admin page.

Rootjosh — Thanks for answering, but are you saying that the wp admin link to my dashboard is going to disappear totally?
That we will have to bookmark it separately from any wordpress menu in order to access it at all????
I had only just noticed that on some pages, the black admin bar’s “my sites” dropdown didn’t seem to have a link to my site’s wp admin dashboard.
But on my home page or a blogpost, the dropdown from MY SITES in that black bar does still have a link to WP ADMIN.
It’s when I’m on a stats page or the “all posts” page, that same MY SITES dropdown doesn’t contain a link to WP ADMIN.
Are you saying that wp is planning to remove our ability to access our dashboards anymore??? Will the link to my dashboard ALSO disappear from that My SItes dropdown in the black toolbar when I’m on a post or my homepage???
What is going on here?

The dashboard itself will not be going away. But the way it is accessed may change as the newer editing interface becomes the standard.
As I said, I would encourage you to bookmark the URL for quick access. Then it will not matter which page you are on.
