can't access the pre / auto set home page
-
Hello you lovely folk :-)
I’m setting up my 5th wordpress blog, so I should know what I’m doing by now…
However… I’ve written our front / first page called “who we are and what we do”. The site (still private) shows both this page and a “home” page. But I can’t see “home” in my list of pages via the dashboard, and when i click on this home page i get a 404 error, so I also can’t put some text in to use this as a proper home page.
What am I doing wrong? I’ve gone through all the options on the dashboard menus, and I can’t see either how to edit or remove it ggrr :-(
Many thanks if you can advise me :-)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

A bit above my paygrade – but some themes have a built in Home page on them – try a Custom Menu to replace the default menu

ggrr i thought this was resolved, but now when you go to the home link you get still get the 404 message:
Not Found
Apologies, but no results were found for the requested archive. Perhaps searching will help find a related post.So maybe I asked the wrong question? How do I get our chosen page up at the root site?
Or is it because it’s still private? Sorry if I’m being really dim… :-(

Being Private should not make any difference.
There should be others that are better than I on this that should drop by and take a shot at this

O it was because I has selected home page to show recent posts and there were none. I selected the only page to be the home view and I’m sorted.
Thanks auxclass though :-)
