can’t add a domain
-
We used to have blog.ekit.com as an alias for ekit.wordpress.com, but it appears to have stopped working. The DNS is still set up.
The instructions on the support pages say, “go to Settings -> Domains in your blog’s dashboard” but I have no “settings” option on the dashboard.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
In the left navigation panel in your dashboard, settings is the bottom below appearance, users and tools.

Thanks @thesacredpath, however I don’t have “appearance” or “users” menu items either. I do have “tools”, but settings isn’t under it.
-
That typically means you are not signed in as an administrator, or you are not the blog owner.
If you are the blog owner, and are signed in as an administrator, log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then try again.

Thanks @thesacredpath that did it. I used a differrent account and was able to add the domain. I still don’t know why it disappeared in the first place. I’m guessing that it needs an annual renewal, but I didn’t get any notification that it was being removed.

Previously domain mappings were not expiring, which was error on our part that it was never implemented. Domain mapping is an annual upgrade and needs to be renewed each year. When it’s up for renewal next year you’ll get email reminders and notifications in your Dashboard.
