Can’t add any html or JS code on the site!!!
-
Hey, I was trying to add a google analytics code to the web site and I don’t see anywhere I can update the JS code. I tried to add the code in the text box…but that doesn’t help! Please advice.
Thanks,
Adarsh

Too bad you didn’t check the FAQs and the forum search box before you fiddled around with this. WordPress.com already runs Google analytics on our blogs and Google only allows one script to run on any blog hence, we cannot have blogger initiated Googel analytics on wordpress.com hosted blogs. For security reasons as we are ll on the same multi-user blogging platform here we cannot use javascript. The software will simply strip these codes out to provide security.
If you are new to wordpress.com it’s important to note that we cannot access the files for our underlying templates and edit them; that we cannot use our blogs here to drive parties to third party sites (see ToS section 2, 5th bullet) and we cannot advertise on our blogs. http://wordpress.com/tos/

From the forum searchbox
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/search.php?q=google+analyticsIf you are looking to have complete control over your template and advertising as well as javascript (media embeds, flash, etc.) your interests will be better served by hiring a blog host and downloading the free software available from wordpress.org.
