Can't add google verification to home page
-
Hi, I am starting to work on https://elderlypet.org/. My client has added the google verification code to tools>marketing, She also has a plugin to add it. It is there on every page but the home page, and I am not sure why!
I tried to download header.php from the server, but if I try to open the directory with the active theme, I get this:
Error: Directory /htdocs/wp-content/themes/twentyeleven: no such file or directory
Error: Failed to retrieve directory listingFile permissions are set correctly, I think.
I also can’t edit header.php from the wordpress editor. I need help. :) thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Which plugin did you use to add the verification field?
Also, please note that you can reach our Live Chat Support if you log in as the WordPress.com Account which owns the Business Plan (not the account you’re currently logged in as) at https://wordpress.com/help/contact

Hi, Your live chat is closed for the holidays. I tried a couple. I tried insert headers and footers, and Google Site Verification plugin using Meta Tag. All I’ve tried will insert it onto all pages except the home page.
And I can’t access header.php on the server, as it shows as a shortcut. So I’m basically out of options. Any thoughts? Thanks.

@kristenboiemba you should still get access to email-form based support, which has a faster response time than our forums — plus they’ll have more expertise with your site, given that our forums staff mainly works with free sites.
That said, I did notice I don’t see the verification meta tags added to the site, so something is making that not work.
Could you use a plugin like Healthcheck to see whether those are working with a default theme, and with plugins aside from Jetpack disabled?

Actually, I re-read your post. I do see Jetpack’s verification tags here, currently:

Right, they are on all the pages except the home page. Can you tell me how to access email support? I couldn’t find that, only chat. Thanks!!
