Can't add HTML Google Verification?
-
Hi All,
I was wondering if someone can help me.
I have followed the instructions on https://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/#google-webmaster-tools (I think) however, when I click VERIFY on google, I get this message?
We weren’t able to verify your property: http://feedyourprettysoul.com/
I have copied and paste the code I have been given into, Admin, Tools, Available tools, Google Webmaster tools but nothing seems to happen?
Also, WordPress provides an example
Example: <meta name=’google-site-verification’ content=’dBw5CvburAxi537Rp9qi5uG2174Vb6JwHwIRwPSLIK8′>
However I am only being provided with;
google-site-verification: googlexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.html
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi jess2569,
The option you want is “HTML Tag”. (You may need to select Alternate Methods to find this option.)
Alternate Methods is what you need to select on Step 4. Try adding your property again using that method instead.
