Can't add image
-
Hi,
I can’t add any images to a new image block. All there is is a link to “insert from url” but that’s it. Drag and drop doesn’t work, nor are there any options to upload from anywhere.
Using IE on a Lenovo Laptop. Have deleted all cache and cookies, still no difference. Tried on Chrome, no good either.
It did work on another laptop using the Chrome browser there, so I did get a few pictures uploaded, but even that doesn’t work anymore.
Thanks.

Hi there,
If this worked on another computer this means that something is affecting both Internet Explorer and Chrome on your Lenovo laptop.
I recommend disabling all the extensions on Chrome and trying again. If this doesn’t work, then you can try again by re-installing Chrome.
Please note that we do not recommend using Internet Explorer (11 or earlier) on WordPress.com as several features are not compatible with that browser.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Sorry, I meant I’m using Edge, not Internet Explorer.
Tried disabling extensions on both Edge and Chrome, with full reboot of computer, on two different laptops, still no go.
Just installed Opera fresh and tried. Still same problem. Unable to load images using image block or media/text block. Only “insert link from url” appears.
Any other suggestions?

Hi there,
Both Opera and Edge are Chromium-based browsers, so I am not surprised that you are having the same upload issue with all three of them. Would you mind trying Firefox which is not a Chromium-based browser, and see if that makes a difference? Also, are you seeing any console error (View > Developer > Developer tools) while on the page?
I am able to see the other two buttons fine within Firefox on Mac, so if it is a Chromium-based issue, it is most likely isolated to PCs.
If you are able, please take a screenshot of what you are seeing and we’d be happy to look further into this for you.
Thanks!

Thanks! Downloaded Firefox and it works fine now!
Worrying it doesn’t work on the Chromium-based browsers though across two laptops.
But Firefox has solved it.
Thanks for the help guys!

We’d love to investigate some more why it’s not working in the other browsers – chance are it’s affecting other people as well, so we’d appreciate if you can provide some more information to help us find what’s causing this.
First, can you give us your exact Windows and Chrome versions? You can find those by visiting this page in Chrome:
Then can you check if you see any console errors in Chrome while trying to add an image block?
Take a screen shot of any errors you see, and upload them directly to the media library at My Site ->Media. We’ll be able to see them there.
Thanks :)
