Can’t add links to Hemmingway template?
-
I’ve shifted from blogspot to wordpress and have chosen the Hemmingway template, but it doesn’t seem to display links anywhere? Have I missed something, or do I need to customise the CSS for them to appear?
-
The Blogroll is actually the Links widget. If you go to Design->Widgets it might be in your sidebar. If it’s not, you can just drag it there. You add links via your Dashboard -> Write -> Link.
-
If you mean a blogroll, it’s the Links widget in Design>Widgets. Other links can be put into text widgets.
Be aware that once you change the default sidebar it will vanish and you’ll have to rebuild the sidebar with widgets, using whatever you choose.

Ah ok. If I go to Design > Widgets, it says:
>>
No Sidebars DefinedYou are seeing this message because the theme you are currently using isn’t widget-aware, meaning that it has no sidebars that you are able to change. For information on making your theme widget-aware, please follow these instructions.
>>There is a link to making the theme widget-aware, which is here:
But it looks like that is intended for the theme author to do. I take it then that the Hemmingway theme doesn’t support widgets, and I can’t have any links?
-
Ah, widget-aware. Self-hosted blogs are supported at wordpress.org/support and there’s a forum for themes.

Yes, Hemingway is pretty but BOY does it have issues. Virtually all of the themes support widgets, though, so you should be able to find something you like.
