can't add new plug in

Hi there,
I am trying to add the portfolio slideshow plugin to my site. Right now, there is no option to “add new” plugin because (I’m assuming) I have a .com instead of a .org site (troubleintulle.com) What are the ramifications of switching? What is the process to do that? Is there any way to add plugins without switching to a .org site? Thank you! -
We don’t allow plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons. Plugins are a feature only available for self-hosted blogs provided through WordPress.org. You can find out more about this topic here: http://support.wordpress.com/plugins/
However, we do have several built-in features that were inspired by many popular plugins. You might find what you want by searching for it at http://en.support.wordpress.com/
